Terms & Conditions
By booking a rehearsal at Basement Studio you are entering
into a contract by which you are agreeing unconditionally on behalf
of the band/artist to abide by the studio's terms and conditions as
detailed below.
Booking a rehearsal
Rehearsal bookings, times and dates are subject to availability
and approval from a member of the Basement team. Basement Studio
reserves the right to refuse and reschedule.
Bookings can be made by the following methods only and are not
valid until confirmed -

An individual will need to sign for a band and he/she will be
responsible for the conduct of other band members & guests.
Payment
Fees for the use of the rehearsal room are charged at the
current tariff. Basement Studio reserves the right to change
the fees with a minimum of 10 days notice.
Payment can be made by either cash or cheque. (Cheques made
payable to 'Basement Studio Ltd.'). It is the responsibility of the
band/artist to cover the cost of each session in full either in
advance or on the day of rehearsal. Late payment will lead to an
additional fee, and refusal to pay may lead to prosecution.
Basement Studio reserve the right to charge a refundable deposit
prior to the commencement of rehearsal.
Cancellations
72 hours notice is required for the
cancellation or rescheduling of a session without charge; this
includes weekends and bank holidays. If a session is cancelled or
rescheduled with less than 72 hours notice, the full cost of the
session will be charged. This is also applicable to weekly block
bookings.
Allowances for cancellations due to extreme circumstances are
made at the discretion of Basement Studio management.
Breakages and damages to studio or equipment
If a piece of equipment breaks, please let us know.
Although we check equipment as much as we can, sometimes things do
break. Whether it's your fault or not the equipment will still need
fixing.
Sometimes it's just general repairs but any damage caused to the
studio or equipment due to misuse, abuse, or wilful vandalism will
be charged to the band/individual. Refusal to pay for breakages
will lead to exclusion and prosecution.
If an item of equipment is damaged or missing at the start of
your session please report it immediately.
Other Rooms
Please note that hire of the studio for rehearsal purposes is
for the live room only. Any unauthorised use or interference with
equipment/furniture from other rooms will incur an additional
fee.
Cymbal and Snare hire
Cymbals and snares may be hired from the studio at an additional
cost and subject to availability. Payment and breakages terms and
conditions apply.
If you wish to hire please let us know when you book your
rehearsal.
Personal items/lost property
Please make sure that you do not leave personal items unattended
and ensure that you take all of your belongings with you when you
leave. Basement Studio is not responsible for any items that
are lost or damaged on the premises.
Theft
The theft of any property or equipment from Basement Studio will
not be tolerated and in such cases, appropriate legal action will
be taken.
When leaving and entering the studio, please remember that the
main door must be kept shut at all times. Any theft or damages that
occur as a result of the door being left open will be chargeable to
the band/artist.
Smoking
Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere inside the studio complex. If
you leave the premises to smoke, please ensure that you are a safe
distance from the studio and that your cigarette stubs are disposed
of appropriately.
Drugs
The studio operates a zero tolerance policy on drugs. If you are
suspected of or found to be in possession of ANY CLASS of drugs on
the premises, you will be asked to leave and reported to the
police.
Food/Drink
You are permitted to bring your own food and drink into the
rehearsal room; however, this must not be placed on any of the
equipment under any circumstances. Any damage caused to
studio equipment due to spillages and negligence with food and
drink will be charged as per our damages policy above.
Basement Studio does not have refuse disposal facilities.
Please take all rubbish home with you. Should we need to clear your
rubbish/mess additional cleaning costs will be charged.
Earplugs
Basement Studio encourages the use of earplugs in the studio
environment. Please ensure that used disposable ear plugs are
properly disposed of and not left discarded in the rehearsal
room.
Drumsticks
Broken drumsticks are a hazard to other room users and studio
equipment. If you break a drumstick, please make sure that you
remove it before you leave.
Key Holders
If you have been given the responsibility of holding a key to
Basement Studio the following conditions apply:
- All keys remain the property of Basement Studio. Basement
Studio may ask for the key to be returned at any time.
- Possession of a key is your sole responsibility and under no
circumstances may it be lent to another party.
- Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you permitted to make a duplicate
key.
- In the event of losing your key, Basement Studio reserves the
right to charge for replacement locks & keys.
- Access to the studio is STRICTLY for periods that you have
booked in advance only.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that all lights, equipment
& heating are switched off, that the building is left secured
and that the gates are locked (where appropriate) when you
leave. Failure to do so will incur an additional cost and
removal of key holder privileges.
If you cannot abide by these
terms and conditions, please do not book a rehearsal.
